Maryland Tax Connect is a self-service portal that allows Maryland taxpayers to file their taxes online more easily and more securely, as well as interact with the Office of the Comptroller in a variety of ways.

Maryland Tax Connect launched for business taxpayers in February 2024, giving them an easier way to file and pay their state taxes online. Now, that same convenience is available to individual taxpayers. Beginning September 1, 2026, all Marylanders, both individuals and businesses, can manage their state taxes through the Maryland Tax Connect portal.

The portal is designed to allow taxpayers to complete several vital functions themselves, accessible from either a mobile device or on desktop, including:

For individual taxpayers:

• Filing personal income tax returns (Form 502)
• Making online payments
• Checking refund status
• Viewing real-time account balances
• Accessing filing history and payment history
• Viewing tax notices and correspondence
• Updating personal information

For business taxpayers:

• Filing and paying business taxes
• Registering a business
• Applying for or renewing business licenses
• Applying for sales and use tax exemption certificates
• Setting up and managing payment plans
